Kings Cross Pond Opening

OTS Angels Tommy (left) and Chris (right) were invited to open the Kings Cross Pond. A temporary open air pool in the heart of the Kings Cross redevelopment, Of Soil and Water: King’s Cross Pond Club was conceived as, and intended to be, a temporary art installation. The 40 metre fresh water public bathing pond is the first of its kind in the UK and is purified using submerged plants to filter the water and is surrounded by flowers and plants. The aim is to allow visitors to have the experience of bathing in the middle of a construction site, to encourage people to think about the relationship between nature and the urban environment, and the changing nature of undeveloped spaces. Its temporary nature added to its specialness.
